Bonita Matthews is a freelance writer whose passion is writing children’s fiction for the early reader, and for this completed a course of study with the Institute of Children’s Literature. She works as a member of Actra Maritimes in film, and with Dalhousie’s Centre for Collaborative Clinical Learning & Research Department as a simulated patient. Other interests include documenting tales by seniors, which have been published in the Saltscapes and Our Canada magazines. 

She is a grandmother of five who also enjoys serving in her local soup kitchen, on stage and behind the scenes in community theatre, canoeing, golfing, kayaking, gardening, painting, and traveling extensively with her husband.
